Our second baptism of 2 of our villages looked like it could have come straight out of the Bible era! We went to the Musi River, where the farmers drive their herds of water buffalo to bathe in the rushing river, and goats are watered. Dry scrub brush and rocks lead down to the water's edge. The native Indian pastor waded in, and the candidates followed, as they were immersed one by one. What a joy to be a witness to new lives in Christ! In the background, the animals moved in and out of the river. In all, 26 of our new friends took their stand as new believers. We got to welcome them as they came out, pray with them and give them their new Bibles. Many of those who were baptized in 2005 were also witnesses, and were instrumental in bringing their friends and relatives to this point. It was a terrific day!
